Welcome to My New Blog

This will be my third and my most personal blog to date. Unlike my other two blogs "The Daily Vampire" and "Politics, Culture and Other Wastes of Times," I will be devoting this blog to one subject: my bout with a very painful, hard to treat condition called Prostatatis, although the doctors are not entirely sure that is what is wrong with me.
FYI, Prostatatis is a swelling of the prostrate gland. The causes and the treatments for it are both things which many doctors seem to be uncertain about.
My main purpose in creating this weekly blog is to vent my frustrations and hopefully connect with other men going through this particular journey through hell.
I have been suffering from this since mid-February, though it may have actually started sometime before then.
My decision to go public with this personal nightmare stems from the fact that one urologist refused to consult with me because I had already seen a urologist that is somehow connected with their business.
It is just one in a series of major setbacks, and it continues to be an on-going daily struggle which manages to take precedent over all the other things that are dear and important to me.
But, I have managed to accomplish many things this year, including traveling to foreign countries, campaigning for a political candidate and writing short plays.
It may surprise some of you that I am not that old. I am 38, and this can happen to anyone.
To my knowledge, the only famous person I am aware of who had this condition was the late writer William Styron of "Sophie's Choice" fame, who I met in Charlottesville, Va., at an arts festival some ten years ago. He did not die from Prostatatis, and regardless of how much pain, agony and suffering I've been through, the one lingering comfort is: "This Can't Kill You."
Hence, it is the name of this new blog.
